An abstract approach to still lives and the natural landscape, students can expect to explore both painting and drawing techniques to achieve unique works of art on paper. Beginning with observational, contour drawing and then adding gouache, a centuries-old, water based paint which has sometimes referred to as opaque watercolor. We will use a layered approach to creating stunning botanical works. Students are encouraged to bring fresh or dried flowers or reference images to use in class. This class is great for beginners and seasoned painters, alike.
