[feb 2] cricut 101 with Hold Steady Designs

Did you recently get a Cricut and are feeling too overwhelmed to get it out of the box? You are not alone! Even as a tech savvy, lifelong crafter, and professional graphic designer, Amber of Hold Steady Designs was intimidated when she got her Cricut.
In this course, Amber will teach you how to set up your machine, what tools and items are needed to get started, the ins and outs of Cricut Design Space (the app needed to operate your Cricut), and you will make your first project!
Together, we will:
Review the basic tools and materials - which ones you need, which ones you don’t, how to use them, and where to buy them (spoiler, its not from Cricut!).
Learn the basic features of Cricut Design Space including finding pre-designed projects in Design Space, customizing those projects, and making your own basic designs.
Select the right materials and tools for your project and learn how to use them.
Design, prep, and make a card from cardstock.
*For this class, you will not need to bring your machine but you are welcome to bring your laptop or tablet to follow along as we learn the Cricut Design Space.
This workshop is suitable for ages 14+
about Amber
Amber Solorzano has been a Renoite since the age of four when her family moved here from New Zealand. She graduated from UNR with a Bachelors in Art and a Masters in Business Administration. She has been creating and crafting since a young age and has worked in every medium there is. In 2022 she decided to open Hold Steady Designs as a side hobby to justify her craft supply spending habit. Hold Steady Designs creates and sells jewelry, clothing, fashion and home accessories with a retro, whimsy vibe full of bright colors and disco balls. You can find her most Sunday’s at the Riverside Farmers Market as well as events throughout Northern Nevada. Amber hosts workshops and “craft bar” events featuring trending craft skills and projects. She chooses projects that even the least crafty person can succeed at.
